Based on a live duet between Ali Kenner Brodsky and Jenna Pollack, to be near you. honors the memory of those we have lost, collapses distance by energizing the spaces between, and demonstrates how people can find connection through physical separation.

My choreography is largely autobiographical, exploring themes of memory, loss, and human connection. to be near you. is one of my most personal and emotionally visceral works. I created the live piece—and later, the film—after the passing of my mom. At its core, this work is a yearning: a longing to feel her touch once more.
